What Your Safety Statement Must Include
Your safety statement is a legal document setting out how you manage health and safety at work. Irish law requires it to contain:
- A general H&S policy statement signed by senior management
- Identification of specific workplace hazards and associated risks
- Site-specific risk assessments with practical control measures
- Emergency plans for fire, first aid, and evacuation
- Defined H&S roles and responsibilities for all staff
The document must be accessible to all employees and available for HSA inspection at any time.
